In episode two of Citywire New Model Adviser's special podcast series about the British Steel Pension Scheme scandal, senior reporter James Fitzgerald speaks with an affected steelworker and the FCA about the sort of unsuitable advice that was given by some IFAs who rushed down to advise steelworkers before and during the time to choose period in 2017. The FCA's director of consumer investments, Therese Chambers, discusses what the regulator did to stop that unsuitable advice during the early days of the scandal and a lawyer representing a group of 100 IFAs who gave advice to steelworkers hits back at claims that a majority of advisers did the wrong thing.
